What You Need To Know:

California’s Water-Use Reduction Mandate is now in effect.

As of May 5th, California has statewide water-use reductions from June 1st of this year until February of 2016. This mandate requires members of the Water Authority to reduce water usage by 12% to 36%.

The irrigation of ornamental landscapes is now limited.

This limitation restricts local water agencies to irrigating ornamental landscapes with potable water no more than two days a week.

The Water Authority has published a recommended budget for the purchase and treatment of water.

The general manager of the Water Authority stated that he recommends a $1.5 billion budget for 2016 and 2017. On June 9th & 11th, workshops were held to review this budget and on June 25th the board will consider the adoption of this budget.

On June 12th, The Water Conservation Garden is celebrating the opening of the Native Habitat Garden.

In this amazing garden, there are plant communities that are arranged in the same manner that they occur naturally. This event will be at the Water Conservation Garden, 12122 Cuyamaca College Dr. West, El Cajon and will begin promptly at 5PM.
