Our Legacy and Commitment
Western landscape Maintenance Plus began with a passion for plants and life, and what better way to express life than through the blossoming of healthy land? Founder, Marty Dieckmeyer, started his career fresh out of college as a tenacious, enthusiastic man with one goal in mind: to provide honest and hard-working grounds crew that will take great pride in the tasks set before them. Today, nearly 30 years after our start up, we still cling to this same motto as we strive to further perfect our practice within this field. Keeping our clients, and plants, blooming with joy is our number one objective.
Our Location
There is no better place to reflect the natural beauties of the world than by being coast side on the Pacific Ocean. Del Mar, a city in San Diego that literally translates to “of the sea”, truly captures the natural aroma and majesty of the earthly environment, thus making it a perfectly fitting place for a landscaping company to be inspired. This city has one of the most desirable climates worldwide as it has a nearly constant flow of warm sunshine from summer through winter and cascading temperatures between 800F and 650 F. Del Mar is also home to some plant-celebrities; since its climate is so hospitable, the city is capable of growing the Torrey Pine, the rarest and most endangered tree found in the United States. The fighting spirit of this tree inspired one of the city’s favorite attractions, the Torrey Pines Golf Course, which is deemed one of the most exclusive and challenging courses worldwide.
Some of our other favorite locations to visit in the area are the Del Mar Racetrack, which holds an annual Summer Fair from June to July for its many energetic neighbors. The track not only hosts several nationally known Thoroughbred racing competitions and tournaments, but also concerts in the park, food festivals, and even dog races that are guaranteed to make anyone from age 1 to 100 smile. Del Mar is also highly patriotic since it lies only a short drive away from the many naval bases found in San Diego County. Lastly, Del Mar is home to some of the most luxurious beaches in Southern California because of the steady surf, white sandy shores, and clean waters.
